The Role
Netherwood Academy is an 11-16 academy which opened in September 2012, set in an extensive £35 million campus. As part of Astrea Academy Trust, Netherwood Academy is in an exciting period of development and needs colleagues who share the drive and passion to make the academy a success for its community.
We are looking for a HLTA - Inclusion with high aspirations and expectations for themselves and our students, and with a passion for bringing about positive change throughout the academy. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, focussed on improvement and have an unconditional positive regard for all young people.
The role is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. Planning, preparing and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.
Within the Academy’s Inclusion provision, HLTA’s will advance students’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes (sometimes as the lead practitioner when required). Under an agreed system of supervision, they will take a lead role to address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
