About Us
The Centre School is an SEMH Special School. We provide education for approximately 130 students from across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. We share a site with Cottenham Village College and are significantly over subscribed. We work tirelessly as a team to support the young people on our roll ensuring that the vast majority are able to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
Being part of this team is rewarding work, but it does require resilience and positivity. We cater for a wide range of need, and work with young people that have struggled in mainstream schools for whatever reason. The school is well supported by the Trust and manages students effectively and creatively. The school is recognised for its effective work with parents and carers.
From September 2020 The Centre School became an 11-18 provider and has the use of an impressive Sixth form building. This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the school. We are constantly seeking to develop our curriculum and to increase the range of qualifications our young people can achieve. Our aim is to enable them to move successfully into a range of provisions at either 16 or 18.
In return, we can offer you:
If you are joining us from another school, academy or trust we recognise your continuous service date with confirmation from your current employer. This can positively impact a number of entitlements, including increased annual holiday payments which represent an increase in salary. This can be discussed in more detail at interview.
